About Navy Studios
Navy Studios Event Photography is run by award winning corporate event photographer David Prior.
I’m married to Steph and we have a baby girl (born in 2021) who is keeping us busy!
I’m one of a handful of photographers who holds a Professional Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) so I understand the demands faced by event managers.
For peace of mind, I’m DBS checked and have professional indemnity and public liability insurance in place.

Describe yourself in three words?
Organised, sarcastic, polite!
Where's your favourite place on earth?
Good question – I would have to say Mauritius, where we went on our honeymoon! So much to see and do – some of my favourite things were watching the sunset on Le Morne beach and swimming with wild dolphins.
Do you travel to events all over the UK?
Yes! Whilst Navy Studios’ office is in London, I live in Surrey and I travel all over the UK for event photography.
I love getting up early and in to the car with a coffee and listening to a podcast on the way to an event!
Other than photography, what do you enjoy doing?
I’ve a real passion for interior design having recently renovated our home… think Victorian chic… dark, rich colours with teak furniture. I love “Your Home Made Perfect” on the BBC – such great use of virtual reality goggles!
I’m a big golf fan too… one day I’m hoping to go over to the US to watch the Masters at Augusta, but in the meantime I’m trying to keep the handicap below 20!
Steph says I mentioned this on our first date but I enjoy hiking and getting outdoors when I can (must have been my time in the scouts). I’ve raised money for charity by climbing Kilimanjaro and walking across Wales in under 24 hours… yes the country. You should have seen the blisters… actually you don’t.
Are you organised?
Well yes I am… so much so that I work with you ahead of the event to understand the brief and to make the most of our time together on the shoot.
I wasn’t always a photographer as I used to be a solicitor in the City for a number of years so that taught me to be prepared… well that and the scouts!
Do you only photograph corporate events?
Whilst the vast majority of my photoshoots are with large corporate clients, I reguarly photograph private birthday parties and celebrations where discretion is required.
